Cambodia Expects a Total of 2 Million Tourists by the End of 2022

Expectations of hotels in Siem Reap Cambodia rise high as the country forecasts a massive number of tourist arrivals to its borders. Therefore, lodgings like FCC Angkor by Avani will be able to anticipate a growth in their tourist inflows by the year 2026. As reported in Khmer Times on the 28th of September 2022, the country expects a massive number of 1.5 – 2 million tourists by the end of 2022, while forecasting a total of 7 million by 2026.

The country seemed hopeful in the recovery of their tourism industry, as the Prime Ministry predicted the aforementioned numbers at the event of World Tourism Day 2022, held under the theme of ‘Rethink Tourism’. According to the Prime Minister, following the opening of its borders in 2021, the country has since been recognised as a safe and green tourist destination.
