Thailand’s annual Chanthaburi Fruit Festival has once again tantalised taste buds and celebrated the country’s vibrant agricultural heritage. Usually held in May or early June each year, this unique cultural event has found a home in Chanthaburi, aptly nicknamed the “Tropical Fruit Bowl of Thailand.” Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Maharat Park, which can be reached on excursions from properties like Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao Chanthaburi, served as the focal point of the festivities. Those who attended this multi-day event from their hotel in Chanthaburi had the chance to enjoy a cornucopia of sights and tastes.
Visitors marvelled at and sampled a vast array of fruits, including durian, a local and regional favourite, known as the “King of Fruits,” which was presented in its various mouthwatering varieties. Beyond the durian, the festival showcased an abundance of other tropical delights: mangosteens, rambutans, dragon fruit, Thai bananas, pineapples, and juicy mangoes to name but a few. Attendees also had the chance to enjoy a free fruit buffet, fascinating fruit floats, displays of artistic fruit sculptures, and even a durian speed-eating competition – a true test for fruit fanatics!
