After a three-year absence, due to the pandemic, tourists from China made a welcome return to Namibia this year. The first of these travellers arrived on 19th May 2023 at the Hosea Kutako International Airport in the capital, Windhoek. This city continues to be a popular choice for international tourists who can stay at modern hotels in Namibia and enjoy the best this destination has to offer; this includes properties like Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino which provide an ideal base for both business and leisure.
Hosted by Way-Way Travel Namibia, the 20 Chinese tourists who arrived in May enjoyed a week-long tour visiting key attractions across this vast nation. Amongst the highlights were Sossusvlei known for its white salt pan and red dunes, the Etosha National Park, Deadvlei and Swakopmund. It is hoped that over the coming months, more and more visitors from China will arrive in Namibia further boosting tourism.
