The Colombo International Book Fair 2016 took place from the 16th – 25th of September. The event was held at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre and the premises of BMICH. The Book Fair has been a popular event with locals and travellers since it was first held in 1999. The event has always been held at the same venue, which is conveniently located within easy reach of the best restaurants in Colombo such as the Rare at Residence along with many other city attractions as well as accommodation and entertainment options.
This year’s Book Fair drew large crowds as the event has always done and featured more than 400 book stalls. The event was organized by the Book Publishers’ Association of Sri Lanka and attracted more than a million local and international visitors. The Colombo International Book Fair is the biggest book festival in Colombo.
