Indira Ekadashi
The observance of Indira Ekadashi in 2024 is set for Saturday the 28th of September. Following this, the times for Parana fall on the following day, which is the 29th of September from 5.59 a.m. to 8.24 a.m. Indira Ekadashi is one of the auspicious days of fasting on the 11th day (Ekadashi tithi) of the waning phase of the moon (Krishna Paksha) during the month of Ashwin in the Hindu calendar. This month usually corresponds to either the month of September or October based on the Gregorian calendar.
The Indira Ekadashi fast is observed by devout followers of Lord Vishnu to seek forgiveness for past sins and wrongdoings. In addition to fasting, Hindu devotees dedicate this day to Lord Vishnu, singing devotional songs and mantras, while also performing rituals and saying prayers in memory of their dead ancestors. Devotees also visit temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu on this day as part of their rituals.
Those who happen to be staying at a 5 star hotel in Yangon at this time, like the Pan Pacific Yangon, may venture out to observe devotees visit the nearby temples to perform rituals on this special day.
