Dubai is set for a series of significant changes as winter 2025 approaches, reshaping travel, transport, and daily life. Emirates will roll out free high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet, while driverless taxis are expected on city streets by year-end, marking a step toward Dubai’s autonomous mobility goals.
Environmental and regulatory updates include an expanded single-use plastic ban effective January 1, 2026, and revised taxi fares for app-based bookings. Delivery riders and traffic rules have also been updated to improve road safety. Meanwhile, flydubai economy passengers will enjoy meals and in-flight entertainment included in their tickets.
The emirate’s family-friendly focus continues with extended school holidays and 2026 being named the UAE Year of the Family. Hospitality options such as Staycae, offering access to some of the best hotel apartments in Dubai, stand to benefit from rising visitor engagement, providing both comfort and convenience amid these city-wide transformations.
