In a time where every beach resort in Seychelles is paying their utmost concern on developing sustainable tourism measures within their properties, Avani Barbarons Seychelles Resort has been awarded Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label (SSTL) by the Tourism Department. A short ceremony was held at the ministry’s headquarters, at Botanical House, Mont Fleuri to give away this Ecolabel to the hotel with the presence of representatives of the hotels and authorities from the Ministry including the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Didier Dogley.
The SSTL certificates are generally awarded to hotels after they are found to be obeying the sustainable practices in their daily operations and it is believed that through this certification strategy, more and more tourist resorts, even the small scale ones, will be encouraged to support sustainable tourism in the country.
