Connecting innovation with tradition — one flight at a time.

In July 2024, Emirates launched its daily non-stop service between Dubai and Hangzhou, marking its fifth destination in mainland China after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, the route added over 2,400 weekly seats and opened seamless connections to Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

The expansion reflected Emirates’ commitment to deepening UAE-China ties and meeting growing demand for passenger and cargo services. Hangzhou, a rising tech powerhouse and home to Alibaba Group, blends rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge innovation—making it an ideal addition to the airline’s East Asia network.

Travellers flying in from cities like Istanbul or Johannesburg found convenient onward journeys to Hangzhou. Those visiting Dubai also experienced world-class stays at properties like Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai, a distinguished and modern luxury hotel in Dubai offering a blend of style and comfort.

Emirates’ new service further positioned Dubai as a global aviation hub connecting dynamic economies worldwide.
