While the world is slowly moving on from the new normal created by COVID-19, most countries, especially those that welcome foreign nationals as tourists have made necessary updates in their travel advisory. Therefore, a traveller’s Mekong Kingdoms dream will soon be a reality, with a luxury Mekong River cruise not too far away from the present.
Travellers are no longer required to undergo a PCR or Rapid Antigen test on arrival or during pre-departure if they possess a vaccination certificate to prove their fully vaccinated status. However, those who are not fully vaccinated will be required to undergo a COVID-19 Antigen test, 48 hours prior to departure (maximum). Travellers are also advised to be mindful of the visa status as only Japan or ASEAN member state travellers can enter Laos, visa-free; other tourists will be required to obtain a valid visa.
