In January this year, Fisherman’s Village in Bophut on the Thai island of Koh Samui was given a makeover to attract more tourists to this charming locale. The Beach Road area which stretches for one kilometre and is home to over 100 vendors was tidied up and went through a transformation. In Koh Samui, resort options can be found near this attraction making it an ideal place to visit for travellers. These include properties like Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort that are well-suited for such sightseeing escapades.
One of the goals of beautifying this area is to preserve the old-world charm of the street and showcase an authentic fishing-village lifestyle in a setting that’s clean and safe. To add to the allure of Beach Road, fire baton displays were held nightly as well; local businesses have also requested authorities to ban traffic on the street from six in the evening to midnight which they believe will bring in more visitors too.
