Forbes Names Sri Lanka One of the 23 Best Places to Travel Around the World in 2023

In April this year, news agencies in Sri Lanka brought to light that the island nation had been included in the coveted Forbes list of “The 23 Best Places to Travel Around the World in 2023”. It was further revealed that this year’s list had been curated by well-known women travel experts and influencers. Sri Lanka which came under the “Best Places to Travel in 2023: Asia” was chosen by a 12-time Emmy Award-winning travel filmmaker and host, Juliana Broste; she went on to describe the country as being a “…spectacular, affordable destination worth the long haul”.

Amongst the key aspects that she highlighted were diverse wildlife, cultural attractions such as Sigiriya, Kandy and Anuradhapura and hill country destinations like Nuwara Eliya famed for its production of the renowned Ceylon Tea. Also mentioned was the iconic Lotus Tower in the city of Colombo which offers stunning views from up high. Not surprisingly, with the resumption of global travel, the island has seen a steady increase in visitors be it to enjoy beachside getaways, wildlife safaris, cultural adventures, or destination weddings. Sri Lanka continues to be a popular choice amongst tourists with local travel specialists such as Ceylon Tours providing excursions to experience the best this destination has to offer.
