With effect from May 2022, Thailand has taken measures to ease its COVID-19 restrictions as tourism faced a downturn in numbers due to the pandemic. This came as good news for any hotel in Riverside Bangkok, Chiang Mai and other cities in the country. Aiming to boost the tourism industry, steps were taken to relax the entry requirements of tourists to Thailand.
Fully vaccinated tourists who travel to hotels and resorts like Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel no longer require the pre-departure or on-arrival test requirement. Travellers are no longer required to isolate themselves in hotels as in the previous ‘Test & Go’ system but are only required to perform self-antigen tests. However, unvaccinated travellers are requested to present a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours of departure, followed by a quarantine period of five days and a test.
