As travel restrictions begin to ease and lockdowns gradually come to an end, the hotel industry is initiating strict health and hygiene protocols; these are seen as playing a key part in not only ensuring early detection or prevention of COVID-19 but allaying the fears of travellers during this period as well. As reported recently by TTR Weekly, many hotel operators and owners in the Asia Pacific region are implementing stringent systems and practices throughout their properties. From gaining professional certifications for hygiene standards to incorporating contactless elements via technology, much is being done.
An example of this can be seen at properties in Bangkok, Thailand where such measures are being taken. Be it a hotel in Sukhumvit including properties such as Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 or a riverside resort, these accommodation options are following strict procedures; they include disinfection of critical touch points every hour, effective hand hygiene procedures and regular deep cleaning.
