Hung Shing Festival 2020 – A tribute by the fishermen

Among many festivals that Hong Kong celebrates such as the Chinese New Year, Ching Ming Festival and Cheung Chau Bun, the Hung Shing Festival is also another significant celebration that is mostly celebrated by fishermen. They celebrate this festival to pay tribute to one of their leaders- Hung Hei who was once a Governor and who was also an astronomer that forecasted weather for fishermen in the region.

This year too, the celebration was held on 06^th of March and this attracted many visitors from local regions as well as from other countries as well. Along the seaside, there are many options for hotel accommodation in Hong Kong and it was evident that those tourists who were spending their holidays at them, were exposed to many rituals followed by the fishermen who celebrated this festival.
