The 74th National Independence Day celebrations were proudly held in Sri Lanka on the 04th of February 2022. Although the event was a simple one, many local officials, High Commissioners, diplomats, and foreign ambassadors had marked their presence at the event. Parallel to these celebrations, the Sri Lankan government also had made arrangements to plant 500,000 saplings across the country.
Foreigners who travel to Sri Lanka in early February get the chance to witness National Day celebrations happening in different parts of the country (in addition to the main celebration in Colombo), and this year too, foreigners got the chance to see elegant celebrations. Performances depicting Sri Lankan culture and tradition that are often highlighted on online sites such as Truly Sri Lanka were quite special among all other colourful events, and they were also admired by the foreign travellers who were in the country during these days.
