IndiGo, the famous affordable air-travel provider based in India recently announced their plans to introduce flights between Sri Lanka and Chennai/Bangalore. According to a company statement, the move will result in ‘affordable and hassle-free travel’ between the two nations for both corporate and leisure travellers.
In recent times, Sri Lanka has become one of the most sought-after destinations in South Asia and has attracted growing numbers of visitors from all over the world, especially India. The new routes offered by IndiGo will greatly benefit the tourism industry of the island since entities ranging from Chinese restaurants in Kalutara to hotels/resorts such as Anantara Kalutara Resort will definitely see an increase in reservations and bookings.
The rates have also been announced, with Rs 3599 (ex-Chennai) and Rs 5999 (ex Bangalore).
