Since the country reopened for tourism on the 15th of March this year, Google Destination Insights have recorded a surge in searches for travel to Vietnam. Statistics show that the search for flights to Vietnam and accommodation as well have increased from 25% to 50% in just a short period. Some of the most common search phrases were “Vietnam trip”, “Vietnam tourism” and “Vietnam travel”.
Most travellers interested in accommodation options like Pan Pacific Hanoi, which is a popular Hanoi hotel came from Singapore, the Philippines, the US, Australia, Canada, UK and India. This comes across as a positive sign for Vietnam as the country strives to regain its momentum in the tourism industry once again. Moreover, the SEA Games that were held from May 12th to 23rd showed great results and was a boost to the sector.
