After years of discussions, Jamaica is finally taking a leap into multi-destination tourism, aiming to attract visitors with a combined experience encompassing Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and the Dominican Republic.
Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, announced this new initiative, highlighting a trial run where partners, tour operators, and media will experience a multi-country vacation package. This trial aims to refine the offering before a formal launch with a set price and value proposition.
Previously, concerns about harmonized travel policies, visas, and limited air connectivity within the Caribbean region hampered multi-destination tourism efforts. However, Minister Bartlett emphasizes an optimistic outlook due to increasing direct Inter Caribbean flights between Caribbean nations.
This improved air connectivity by those such as InterCaribbean Airways is a significant step towards the successful implementation of multi-destination tourism, offering visitors a broader and more diverse Caribbean experience.
