Japan’s Largest Airlines: Gears Up for Post-Pandemic Travel Boom

Japan’s leading airlines, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Japan Airlines (JAL), are gearing up for a surge in travel interest by jointly announcing a recruitment campaign for over 3,700 new staff in the upcoming year. This robust hiring initiative reflects the optimistic outlook for the aviation sector following the adversities of the COVID-19 pandemic.

ANA Holdings, the parent company of ANA, intends to onboard around 2,900 fresh recruits across its diverse subsidiaries, encompassing roles such as cabin attendants, pilots, and IT engineers, marking a 200-person increase from the previous recruitment cycle. Similarly, JAL is set to hire 700 flight attendants, 50 pilots, and 100 business planning staff members. This recruitment drive aligns with the flourishing travel industry in Japan, propelled by a depreciating yen that attracts more foreign tourists, alongside sustained robust domestic and international travel demand. This will benefit many Japanese cities, including popular ones like Hokkaido. Visitors will be able to enjoy the best hotels in Hokkaido, including properties such as Grand Park Otaru, following the improvements made to the tourist industry as a whole
