In this year’s inaugural NSW Top Tourism Towns Awards, both Kingscliff and Tyalgum in the Tweed Shire area made it to the final round. The finalists, selected based on voting by the public, were chosen for two categories; Tyalgum was a nominee for the Small Tourism Town award, while Kingscliff was a finalist in the Top Tourism Town award. Though Berrima and Mudgee were eventually named winners of these respective categories on 27th May 2021, it nevertheless highlighted the popularity of the Tweed area.
In fact, in July 2021, Kingscliff was again put in the spotlight by the news.com.au website, listed as an option on its guide to “Northern NSW and where to go that’s better than Byron Bay”. Known for its coastal beauty, this charming town has much to offer. Local accommodation options include Oaks Casuarina Santai Resort offering centrally located hotel rooms; Kingscliff sightseeing is easy to enjoy from such properties be it visiting idyllic beaches or taking trips to the Cook Island Aquatic Reserve.
