According to a recent online article published by the Maldives Times, renowned UK travel operator Kuoni has listed the Maldives as the top destination amongst its customers. It is significant to note that it is the 16th consecutive year that this South Asian nation has claimed this honour. As given in Kuoni’s annual report, UK tourists visiting the Maldives increased by 10.2% in 2018.
With the best Maldives resort options including names such as Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon available to travellers, visitor numbers are likely to continue in this upward trend as new resorts open as well. Kuoni also highlighted the fact that the presence of eco-centres which showcase the country’s aquatic life was among the factors that attracted tourists. The following of eco-friendly initiatives and efforts to reduce single-use plastic by resorts in Maldives were also noted.
