The Laguna Phuket Triathlon 2023, the longest-running triathlon in Southeast Asia, marked the completion of another successful competition on this popular Thai island. The 29th edition of this triathlon was held on 19th November 2023 at Laguna Phuket; this well-known integrated lifestyle destination home to accommodation options like SAii Laguna Phuket offered an idyllic backdrop for both competitors and visitors staying at such a luxury resort. With the participation of more than 1,000 triathletes from 30 nations, the Laguna Phuket Triathlon 2023 gave participants a chance to experience the island’s picturesque landscapes as well. It featured a swim in the Andaman Sea and lagoon for 1.8 km, a bike ride in the countryside for 55 km and a run at the Laguna Phuket complex totalling 12 km. The winner of the men’s category was Max Stapley from the United Kingdom who recorded a time of 2 hours, 32 minutes, and 53 seconds. Interestingly, Kate Waugh, the women’s category winner, was also from the United Kingdom with a time of 2 hours, 46 minutes, and 4 seconds.
