The Magic Lantern Festival which is scheduled for 19th January 2017 in London will be a truly magical event in terms of atmosphere and celebrations. This year’s theme, ‘Explore the Silk Road’, is an apt one as the celebrations prepare to welcome the Chinese New Year. According to the Chinese calendar, 2017 is going to be the year of the Rooster.
This is the second time that Londoners get together to celebrate the dawn of the Chinese New Year and the Chiswick House and Garden will be illuminated with immense and beautiful Chinese lanterns. The 15-metre lantern (by width) which will be showcased at the Houses of Parliament will give a brilliant start to the line-up of lanterns that will expound the journey of the ‘Silk Road’ from Europe to China of the old age.
If you wish to witness this extravagant event in the future and are interested in finding a Colombo travel agent to help you out, you are in luck; a few travel agents in Sri Lanka like Jetwing Holidays offer tour packages to London at this time of the year.
