The PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, renowned for hosting the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, recently concluded a successful round of the ongoing Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) from 7th to 9th June 2024. The MCS is a national racing series established to promote and foster the growth of four-wheel motorsport in the country. This prestigious competition attracts top drivers and racing teams from both Malaysia and abroad, who compete across various categories. These include Stock Production 1 (SP1) for cars with engines up to 2000cc and Touring Production (TP) for modified production and turbocharged cars up to 2000cc.
Typically, the MCS consists of four rounds spread across four weekends and viewing the races is amongst the most exciting things to do in Sepang. Each round features two one-hour endurance races; the final round presents an additional challenge – a gruelling 300-km endurance race consisting of 54 laps around the iconic 5,543-metre Sepang track that can be reached from properties like Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort. With the second round completed, anticipation builds for round three, scheduled for 9th to 11th August 2024. The season culminates with the fourth and final round taking place from 6th to 8th September this year.
