The tourism industry in Malaysia has been given a welcome boost this year with a notable increase in visitors from China. A key reason for this is that such travellers are offered visa-free entry as part of a policy that came into effect from December 2023, and which has been extended up to the end of 2026. As reported on The Star news website on 08th October 2024, by the end of August this year, Malaysia had recorded a total of 2,285,785 tourists from China which marked a whopping 160% increase when compared with the same period in 2023.
In addition to the visa-free policy, the rise in direct and charter flights between Malaysia and China has helped to boost arrivals as well. Drawn by the country’s many allures, these travellers are continuing to enjoy diverse experiences including fun things to do in Sepang known for its coastal getaways. Here, properties like Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort offer the ideal base for beachside bliss, water sports and enriching adventures that are drawing tourists not just from China but from around the world each day.
