Following the reopening of its borders in July 2020, the Maldives has seen an increasing number of arrivals which has put the tourism industry back on track. Such has been its success, that CNN on its website, billed the nation as the “biggest 2020 international tourism success story”. This trend has continued into 2021; as of 12th April 2021, 339,962 arrivals have been recorded this year with a steady increase each month. India continues to be the number one source market following the pandemic making up 23% of total arrivals.
Amongst the key allures of holidays here is that while travellers do not have to quarantine on arrival, they will be whisked away to luxury hotels or resorts on private islands Maldives has to offer. Such properties including Naladhu Private Island Maldives provide a safe, secure and self-contained destination in which to experience the best of what the country has to offer without the need for outside contact.
