island, a floating city to challenge the rising sea level. The city will include all amenities and a plethora of attractions for locals and tourists such as restaurants, shops, hotels, resorts, and malls. The overwater city is expected to attract more visitors to the island with its main source of income being tourism.

The project will commence in January 2023 on a large scale and is expected to be completed in 4-5 years. Travellers visiting the island now can choose to stay in Maldives 4-star resorts or hotels located in the main cities, or accommodations such as Holiday Inn Kandoomathe  Maldives which is located on a secluded and private island of its own.
