Maldives has seen a sharp increase in UK traveller arrivals with a 3.6% increase during the first eight months of 2015 when compared to the same period last year. According to Visit Maldives, 61,720 UK tourists have visited the Maldives Islands during this period compared to 59,564 in 2014 with openings of new hotels and resorts including new luxury catamaran services being added during this year that has attracted more tourists to visit them on holiday. Maldives is an archipelago situated in the Indian Ocean spanning nearly 1,200 spectacular coral islands with close to 200 of them being inhabited and a fascinating beach holiday destination for tourists with powder white sandy beaches and emerald waters and secluded islands for romantic holiday making.
