Coordinated action, steady recovery, and renewed confidence for island travel
Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), working closely with government bodies and industry partners, has rolled out an expanded support plan in response to ongoing disruptions affecting international air travel. The initiative focuses on maintaining visitor safety, improving coordination, and reinforcing confidence in the destination during a period of global operational challenges.
So far, the response has enabled eight assisted return services, including special arrangements for travellers heading back to Germany and France. At Velana International Airport, a dedicated assistance point has been set up in partnership with airport authorities and tourism officials to guide affected visitors and provide real-time support.
Efforts are also underway to engage airline partners for possible schedule restorations and additional connectivity options. At the same time, coordinated promotional activity is being encouraged across key markets to sustain inbound interest. With steady interest in family travel experiences, properties such as Kuda Villingili Resort Maldives Maldives, ranked among the best Maldives resorts for families, may also see a positive impact as demand stabilises.
Authorities continue to align on a broader recovery approach to ensure the Maldives remains resilient and welcoming.
