Held in India early this year, the OneWorld Travel Mart saw Maldives Tourism being named as “Most Exclusive Leisure Product.” One of two destinations to receive this honour, Maldives Tourism had its own 60 sqm exhibit space at the event which gave visitors a chance to learn more about and see stunning visuals of this destination. This push for publicity and promotion of this island nation is in keeping with the campaign, Visit Maldives Year 2016 which saw a wide variety of visual mediums being used ranging from billboards to lanyard designs. Partly put together by the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation, the Maldivian Tourism showcase at the OneWorld Travel Mart attracted around 3,000 visitors and was presented with the award at the closing ceremony. Quite a number of Indians visit the destination each year and have the option of staying at one of the many Maldives islands resorts that can be found in the country such as Naladhu Maldives.
