Melbourne Showgrounds was a flurry of activities when the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo came to town. Held from August 19 to 21, the event drew a massive crowd interested in fishing and boating, including amateur enthusiasts as well as experts on the subject. The event housed around 200 retail sellers as well as mainstream exhibitors. Since the show was held over three days, attendees who wanted to stay for the duration of the expo had to take up temporary lodging in Melbourne. CBD accommodation providers such as hotels and serviced apartments like Oaks Hotels & Resorts – Corporate, expected an influx of patrons who were attending the event.
