As reported in August this year, Myanmar has seen an increase in tourists when compared to last year. As per the statistics from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, from April to June, 42,315 international arrivals were recorded which was nearly an increase of 23% from the same period in 2021. Travelers can once more enjoy the best of the country including its capital on a stay at properties like PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw; those based at such a hotel in Naypyidaw can not only easily enjoy sightseeing or business but are also ensured of safe stays with stringent health and hygiene protocols in place.
Since the operations of international commercial flights resumed in Myanmar beginning in April this year, more tourists have been arriving which bodes well. Additionally, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has come up with a recovery plan that covers a period up to 2025 to boost the tourism industry with 18 key strategies. It will be hoped that as global travel continues to pick up, arrival numbers to Myanmar will also rise in the months to come.
