Following a National Park City Foundation assessment, Adelaide was named as a “National Park City”, making it only the second such city in the world to receive this status after London. This was announced on the official South Australian Tourism website on 14th December last year which also highlighted aspects of the submission made by Green Adelaide for the assessment; these included outlining new re-wilding projects, street plantings and raising awareness about raptor species in South Australia’s capital.
With the status of being a National Park City, this popular destination is expected to draw more visitors be it from Australia or abroad once borders reopen. For travellers looking for accommodation, Adelaide CBD makes an ideal choice as it’s close to many urban green spaces; this includes the Adelaide Botanic Garden within easy each of Oaks Adelaide Horizons Suites. It is expected that new nature spaces will be developed too, further increasing the city’s appeal.
