As part of the country’s reopening, Thailand has systematically been removing its COVID-19-related restrictions including at nightlife hotspots after more than a year. After an announcement made in June 2022 by the government and reaffirmed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, restaurants and eateries can serve alcoholic beverages to dine-in customers; additionally, bars, pubs and karaoke lounges with the “Thai Stop COVID 2 Plus” certification can operate under the given guidelines. It’s hoped that such easing of restrictions will lead to more tourists as well with the country looking to attract more travellers this year.
As part of the announcement made by the Thai government, the colour-coded zoning that was previously in place was also removed; following this, the green zone status was given to all 77 provinces including Bangkok; city hotel options for tourists here such as Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok provide an ideal base for business and leisure while providing safe accommodation with stringent health and hygiene measures in place.
