A new project employed by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has further facilitated travel through Dubai Airports. Referred to as “Biometric Passenger Journey”, this project was launched in order to create a safe and contact-less experience for passengers by cutting down on queues in light of this pandemic. The project employs state-of-the-art biometric technology, which incorporates a blend of facial and iris recognition, allowing passengers to check-in, complete formalities, and board their flights, simply via a stroll through the airport after spending a fine vacation at one of the Palm Jumeirah hotels the likes of Avani Palm View Dubai.
These new touchpoints include 122 smart gates that only require passengers to walk through between only five to nine seconds until they are allowed to board their flights or check-out of the airport.
