Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) has added Gurney Bay Hotel, A PARKROYAL Hotel, to its growing portfolio in Malaysia. Located within the new Gurney Bay lifestyle precinct and just ten minutes from George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 368-room hotel offers scenic views of the Penang coastline and easy access to Penang’s cultural attractions. This addition complements the resort and aligns with the brand’s focus on local culture, providing guests with an immersive experience of Penang’s rich heritage.
With Penang’s economic growth outpacing the national average and the ongoing expansion of Penang International Airport set for completion in 2028, the PARKROYAL Penang Resort is expected to contribute to an influx of visitors to the numbers including the choices of hotel in Malaysia, Penang. PPHG CEO Choe Peng Sum highlighted Malaysia’s tourism goals, including attracting 35.6 million visitors by 2026, with Penang targeted to receive over 5 million tourists this year, growing to 7.4 million by 2030.
