Phuket Earns Top Spot as Thailand’s Tech Leader – Revisiting a 2023 Analysis

Phuket has solidified its position as Thailand’s technological frontrunner, recently being crowned the most advanced province in the country. The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) recognized Phuket’s exceptional strides in smart city development, robust infrastructure, and innovative digital services. This accolade underscores Phuket’s transformation into a dynamic tech hub.

The DEPA’s evaluation considered factors such as the province’s vision for smart city development, its physical and digital infrastructure, information network security, and the implementation of smart city services. Most Phuket luxury resorts and hospitality properties have also digitised their services with independent online booking platforms and detailed travel information, including Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas. The island’s impressive score across these metrics highlights its commitment to technological advancement.

This recognition is a significant milestone for Phuket, positioning it as a model for other provinces seeking to embrace digital transformation. As Thailand continues to evolve as a tech-driven nation, Phuket’s leadership is expected to inspire further innovation and development across the country.
