The island of Phuket in Thailand is planning to boost tourism and increase arrivals in 2024. One of its initiatives was seen at the end of last year when the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) partnered with Saudia Airlines; it has set an ambitious goal of bringing in 300,000 tourists from Saudi Arabia this year which will lead to an estimated revenue of 27.68 billion baht.
Earlier this year, the Mayor of Phuket Town also unveiled various events that will be hosted throughout the year in a bid to attract more visitors to the island. One of these was the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations from 15th to 17th February 2024 in Phuket Old Town which welcomed an influx of Chinese tourists. Meanwhile, the Cultural Amulets Showcase and Phuket Provincial Fishing Competition have been held this month, while the Children’s Summer Camp is set to launch as well. The island continues to draw travellers year-round who can stay at Karon Beach hotels and enjoy the best of this destination; this includes properties such as Jono X Phuket Karon where guests can look forward to plenty of fun in the sun, sand and surf.
