Lertchai Wangtrakuldee, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Phuket, has announced the continuation of the province’s promotion as a year-round destination without an official low season. This strategic approach follows the remarkable success witnessed in 2023, during which Phuket surpassed its arrival and revenue targets well before the year’s end. Even resorts like NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort, considered by many as the best family hotel in Phuket reported higher demand and sales.
By the conclusion of November, Phuket had welcomed over 10 million visitors, contributing a substantial 330 billion baht to the local economy.
Wangtrakuldee emphasized the commitment to sustain this successful strategy, particularly targeting tourists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore during the typical low season, which typically begins around May. Concurrently, efforts will be made to retain tourists from Russia and Kazakhstan, ensuring a consistent flow of visitors to Phuket throughout the year.
