Portugal Heading for Another Record Year for Tourist Arrivals – Heading to Pretty Porto?

Everyone seems to be going to explore the land of Vasco da Gama to discover the charms of the country. The country gleefully reported that it’s firmly on track for another record year for foreign arrivals. According to the National Statistics Institute’s monthly data on the hotel sector, from January to July, over 7.1 million tourists have stayed in Portuguese hotels, which helped drive total revenues over 17% higher to $2.14 billion.

Luring tourists with its historic sites and beaches, August is by far the strongest month for holidaymakers. Many base themselves in 5 star hotels in Lisbon the likes of Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Lisboa, in the coastal capital city of Portugal. Considering the amount of tourists flocking to this country every year, it comes as no surprise that Portugal was named as Europe’s best destination at the World Travel Awards 2017.
