During the Arabian Travel Market, it was revealed that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries were in discussions to launch a “Schengen-style” visa, which would allow travellers to enter all partner countries under one visa. The panellists, including officials from Bahrain, the UAE, and the Saudi Tourism Authority, responded positively to the idea, sparking a discussion on the future of the Gulf region and its potential to boost international visitation.
Similar to the Schengen zone in Europe, this unified visa system would streamline travel within the GCC countries, enhancing convenience and accessibility for tourists. This would also mean more travellers demanding a 2 bedroom hotel apartment in Dubai from hotels like La Suite Dubai Hotel and Apartments. The proposal reflects the commitment of GCC nations to collaborate and leverage their collective tourism offerings to attract more visitors to the region. Further details and developments regarding the implementation of the unified visa are yet to be announced.
