With its relaunch of flights to the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, Qatar Airways now offers links to 100 destinations; this was highlighted in an online article published in October on the Simple Flying website. According to the article, at the time, the airlines had 700 weekly flights, while plans are underway to expand its network by year’s end with connections to more than 125 destinations; these include cities in the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
As part of this expansion, a new direct flight will commence this month linking the capital Doha and the city of San Francisco in the United States. While such flights offer convenient connections to outbound travellers, it will be hoped that international tourists will soon be able to also enter Doha; hotels and beachside properties the likes of Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara continue to offer ideal holiday getaways and the arrival of international travellers will boost the hospitality industry too.
