Qatar Waives Entry Visa Requirements for Citizens of 80 Countries – Executing Effective Measures

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (Mol), Qatar Airways along with the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) recently announced that Qatar would allow visa-free entry for citizens of 80 different countries. According to this decision, citizens of those countries planning to visit Qatar will be issued a multi-entry waiver free of charge upon presentation of a valid passport with a validity period for a minimum of six-months along with a confirmed return or onward ticket.

Implemented as a part of a series of measures Qatar has undertaken in order to facilitate easy visitor access to the nation, this step is expected to benefit many in the travel and tourism industry; this includes transportation and tour operators as well as accommodation providers which offer everything from Doha hotels to resorts such as Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara. The reports further revealed that the country is considering enhancing its visa policy with measures such as waiving the requirements for those who have a residence permit or valid visa from the nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council as well as several other countries such as the United Kingdom, United States of America and Canada.
