Quang Nam Works To Unleash Its Potential: Sea and Land Tourism a Major Focus

Quang Nam province in Vietnam boasts a 125-kilometre coastline with pristine beaches and a multitude of islands, making it a prime destination for tourism development. An Bang Beach in Hoi An, recently recognized as one of Asia’s best beaches by Tripadvisor, exemplifies the region’s potential. This “having-it-all” destination, with its powdery sand, vibrant coral reefs, and stunning vistas, attracts both domestic and international tourists seeking a quintessential beach experience.

According to the Chairman of Quang Nam Tourism Association, sea and island tourism is a major drawcard, evidenced by over 2.5 million visitors choosing such packages in 2023. While acknowledging the beauty of Quang Nam’s beaches and historical sites, visitors like David Karl highlight the need for improved infrastructure and diversified tourism offerings, particularly in underwater sports. Recognizing this growth potential, Quang Nam authorities are committed to fostering sea and island tourism. Chairman Thanh proposes facilitating investment through tax breaks, loans, and infrastructure development to establish sea and island tourism as a cornerstone of the province’s green tourism strategy. Industry leaders, like Le Ngoc Thuan, emphasize the need for financial support to develop new experiences and train personnel, maximizing Quang Nam’s position as a premier beach and island destination. Hotels in Hoi An the likes of Anantara Hoi An Resort too promote sustainable methods to make their properties more attractive to potential visitors.
