Following strict travel restrictions imposed in December last year, Hong Kong reduced its mandatory quarantine period for visitors to two weeks, one less than the previous requirement. The new guidelines came into effect from 5th February 2022 and included an additional seven-day period of self-monitoring with compulsory testing on two of the days as well. Due to the nature of the pandemic, such requirements may change so those planning a visit should always check official websites (https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/inbound-travel.html) for the latest updates.
Travellers arriving in Hong Kong from countries or regions outside Mainland China as well as Macau can stay at “Designated Quarantine Hotels” such as Dorsett Wanchai that offer special full-board quarantine packages too. Such Wan Chai hotel properties additionally come under the “Anti-Epidemic Hygiene Measures Certification Scheme” and have stringent hygiene and sanitisation measures in place to ensure safe stays.
