Black rhinos are extremely rare to the extent that there are only about 6000 of this species to be found in the world. The name of the baby rhino who debuted at NSW Zoo is Sabi Star and she was an absolute delight! She roamed the zoo with her mother Bakhita for the first time at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.
Sabi Star was about 7 weeks old at the time and was just beginning to eat solid food. She would also imitate her mum who would munch on a few branches and leaves. The little rhino was receptive to the sound of voices in the zoo and the activity going on but stayed close to her mother. For those planning on visiting, and staying at hotels like Oaks Sydney North Ryde Suites or any other hotels Circular Quay don’t forget to drop by to visit Sabi Star.
