Reasons Why You Would Travel to Mauritius – A Rise in Asian Visitors to this Island Paradise

Well known publication The Independent recently featured a special spotlight on the scenic island of Mauritius with a focus on the rise in popularity of visitors from Asia. The country was previously known as a relatively expensive tourist destination affordable by leading nations of G10 countries. While figures of 2016 showed a sharp increase in the number of tourists visiting this stunning tropical destination with a majority of arrivals from European countries, also of note was the influx of Asian tourists. In order to cater to this growing demand, visitors from destinations like India, China, Singapore and Malaysia are being targeted; accommodation options include Mauritius luxury resorts such as the well placed InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort being among the plethora of choices available. The Independent further revealed that the country is planning to follow new initiatives to welcome more tourists from the Middle East which is recognised as another growing segment.
