Why renovation is mandatory for Hotels – increasing revenue through investment

All hotel chains prosper when their properties stand out with contemporary amenities and services that draw in guests and thus, a steady revenue. However, when a property develops significant wear and tear, a decline in revenue will surely follow. That’s why renovations hold an important part in the long-term, they are designed to upgrade a property so that profits are sustained; and with fierce competition in the leisure industry, renovations are mandatory for any hotel to stay on top.

Cosmetic and interior renovations should be carried out on regular cycle to ensure peak performance and comfort. There’s no set rule for it but most Hotel bathrooms and bedrooms are upgraded on a minimum 3-year cycle to keep facilities in top condition and interior furnishings on par with the latest trends. More extensive work that includes electrical wiring and safety work may take place during a 6 year cycle, whilst plumbing and large-scale structural support takes place every 12 years.

There are several establishments that play a critical role in helping with renovations, like Hotelrefurb for instance, that are dedicated solely to supplying information and services on interior designs and furnishings for hotel renovations. Due to the nature of the industry, a hotel undergoing renovation usually stays in operation, so work is usually completed on a floor by floor basis, as discreetly as possible to keep disturbances to guest at a minimal. Upgrades to the interior and exterior of any property not only extend its lifespan but also enhances its image and competitiveness in the market.

Renovation is all about investment, spending money to increase money, so it needs to be worth the time and cost that is put into it. Whether it’s a minor makeover or the hotel rebranding with a new look, the constant renovation of a property fulfills a well thought out strategic plan to ensure a steady growth in revenue.
