The eagerly anticipated Singapore-Australia travel bubble could launch soon providing a much-needed boost to the global travel industry. In September this year, Qantas, the national carrier of Australia, announced its intentions to commence international travel as early as Christmas 2021; amongst the destinations it would consider flying to would be those that had high COVID-19 vaccination rates of which Singapore is one of the leading nations in the world.
Australia’s vaccination rates have been increasing as well, another promising sign that would facilitate the commencement of the travel bubble; under such an agreement, fully vaccinated tourists from both countries can enjoy cross-border travel without needing to quarantine on arrival. Once they do arrive, travellers from Australia and other nations can look forward to safe accommodation too at key 4-star hotels in Singapore; these include centrally located hotels in the Queenstown area such as Park Hotel Alexandra that are certified ‘SG Clean’ for the stringent hygiene and sanitation protocols in place.
