Singapore passport
Singapore reclaims its position as holder of the world’s most powerful passport owing to its policy of visa-free into 195 global destinations. In rising to the top of the list, Singapore passed several European countries like Germany, Italy, France, and Spain, which now share the second spot with Japan. These rankings were compiled by Henley & Partners, a London-based immigration consultancy based on data from the International Air Transport Association.
Amidst these endless possibilities for travel, there are a few preferred destinations that Singaporeans often travel to. Japan is the most popular, accounting for 21% of Singaporeans’ travel, with Malaysia and Australia being the next preferred destinations.
In addition to boosting its passport status, Singapore has established itself as a prime travel destination in Asia. It now features an array of modern and cultural attractions and exceptional shopping and entertainment experiences. An improved hospitality sector which includes 5-star hotels like Grand Park City Hall and several other luxury hotels near City Hall, Singapore has further encouraged travellers to arrive for overnight stays, which has significantly impacted several other sectors in the country positively.
